I ate at Red Crab Seafood Club in Greenbelt last Dec. 9 and to my dismay, this resto now tops my list of places I will not visit again. To start with, the food selection at the buffet table do not look fresh. The crabs, which are suppose to be their "specialty, taste dry and seems to have been re-heated quite a number of times. The bib being used by diners looks unclean and is smelly. I actually lost my appetite for the buffet after smelling the bib. To top it all, the service in this resto is very very poor. We came in around 12.30 pm and even though my companions are still eating, a few minutes before 2pm, the crew members started to take away the food in the buffet table without even informing us for the 'last call'. The crew members are very inattentive to diners and since it was the Sunday of Pacquiao's lastest fight with Marquez, some of them were just standing around the resto and exchanging talks about the fight. Some crew members manning the buffet table also seemed unprofessional as I saw at least two of them either with their backs leaning at the wall of the resto or leaning on their elbows staring at the food in the buffet table. As if my bad experience with the service is not enough, on two occasions that I visited the wash area, I saw 2 different crew members brushing their teeth in the lavatory ... and they were doing this during the lunch time peak hour of the resto! In the same way that I give direct feedback to the manager of a resto where I really had a satisfactory and fulfilling dining experience, I also feel the responsibility to give the same feedback to the restos where I did not have a pleasant dining experience. And so, after settling our bill I requested for the restaurant manager, to my dismay I was informed that he is not around (one of the crew members slightly remarked that he is upstairs - I can only assume he/she was watching the live telecast of Pacquiao's fight) and so the officer-in-charge came to me and I gave him my feedback to my unpleasant dining experience. I can only hope that my feedback was taken positively and the needed changes be done in their resto's operations or else, they may need to fold up operations soon if more & more customers will have the same experience.

Just recently, we're happen to be on a Saturday overtime and the gang decided to have a lunch at the Red Crab's. I really love seafood that's why I think their menu appeals on me. Actually, my other 3 co-worker's are seafood addict too. But I must say we're not the only one's. When we came in, I remember there's a mountain of sumptuous red crabs steaming on the side of the buffet table. Guess what, few minutes later it started to be half-full. And then another round at the table, you can almost see the bottom of the pan. That's how special it is. Yum yum!

Red Crab's buffet is similar to that of Brazil Brazil, in that it is a specialty buffet, emphasizing on a certain dish. In this case, it is crab. For diners who want to have crabs, it is a crabber's delight as you get to eat all the crab you wish.

But like most buffets, you sacrifice quality for quantity. So if you like volume, this is your cup of tea. But if it is quality (and value for money) then the chinese restaurants, like dragon gate, emerald garden, and sun moon are winners.

For seafood lovers, one of the must-try restaurants in Metro Manila is Seafood Club. Located in one of the posh malls in the metro, Seafood Club is the haven for those who can't get enough of crabs. I am telling you, Seafood Club has endless and well-cooked servings of our dear orange, claw-bestowed friends that you may lose track of time chowing on them and enjoying laughs with your friends.

Sure, nitpicking through the claws and finishing plates of crabs can cost you some serious peso, but the thing about Seafood Club is, the resto also has a buffet table where you can enjoy non-seafood dishes (such as pork roast and pasta), fruits, and sweets. My nephews were particularly fond of the chocolate fondue and the ice cream machine (I think they were the reasons all the provided cones disappeared that evening).

Just thinking about the succulent crabs makes my mouth water. The Seafood crab has the reddest crabs you can think of. On top of that, this is offered in their buffet - as in eat all the crabs you like. They have a different menu every day to appeal to the most discriminate diner.
