In the heart of Ortigas lies SM’s first high-end mall, The Podium. This sleek modern six-level structure is a joint venture of SM and the Singaporean company Keppel Land Inc. The Podium is surrounded by Asian Development Bank, Discovery Suites, St. Francis Square, and SM Megamall -- all of which are walking distance.
Since The Podium is designed to cater to those belonging to the higher income bracket, there is an abundance of restaurants that can please even the most discerning diner. Fine dining restaurants such as Florabel, House of Wagyu, and Casa Armas Tapas Bar y Restaurante stand alongside more casual places like Terry Selection, Café Breton, Burgoo, and Banana Leaf Curry House. Although The Podium does not have a food court, the fifth floor area surrounding the cinema is lined with the closest thing you can find to fast-food joints. Smaller restaurants and food stalls like Subway, NYPD (New York Pizza Delivery), Pinoydon Rice Bowls, and Fuzion Smoothie Café can provide one with a quick fix.
Notable anchors in The Podium include Watson’s, Baby & Co., Toy Kingdom, and NBS Bestsellers. Retail outlets include shops like Naf Naf, Rudy Project, Top Shop, Shoe Salon, Bayo, and Kamiseta while lifestyle services can be availed of at The Spa, Belo Medical Group, Bench Fix Salon, and Hairshaft Salon.
The Podium has two state-of-the-art cinemas which usually show Hollywood films. Movie tickets can be reserved by phone with the condition that the buyer pick up the tickets at least one hour before screening time. Failure to comply equates to the tickets being sold to someone else. The Podium also has Piazza Musica, a small multi-purpose atrium for various happenings like musical performances, fashion shows, exhibits, and launch events.
Aside from its basement and outdoor parking areas, The Podium also offers valet parking services. Parking is especially challenging during Sunday mornings since church-goers from Christ’s Commission Fellowship (CCF) next door take up majority of the parking slots well before the mall opens.
