Yo estuve allí en Dulcinea y se come de maravilla. Para hispanohablantes Filipinas es como estar en casa. Hasta encontré gente que hablaba castellano pues sigue habiéndolos esparcidos por todo el archipiélago. ¡Viva Dulcinea y viva Filipinas!

I was with my balikbayan sister last week and had coffee at dulcinea in glorietta 4. my sister wants starbucks but i was able to convince her that dulcinea has a good coffee. I told her that she would like the ambiance and the quietness of the place. Unfortunately, they served us coffee in cups with broken lids (we\'re 3 sisters). For sure, the people working in the kitchen and the people serving them knows about it. What if they were the ones to be served with broken cups. Its not a good place to have coffee anymore.

Let's start off with Dulcinea. My favorite food to order would be their Gypsy Steak (P323 +SC). I love, love, love their Gypsy Steak and just thinking about it makes me crave again for the tender meat and the juicy fat, seasoned with herb butter. They serve it with soup, rice (which I drench in the herb butter sauce), mashed potatoes (which I pass on to my hubby or my mom) and buttered vegetables.

Dulcinea has been a part of the Philippine restaurant scene since the 1960s. It started with one shop in the heart of Manila and now it has branches in the major commercial areas in Makati, Alabang and Quezon City and in the SM malls, among others.

Apart from the Churros con Chocolate, another reason why I love dining at Dulcinea is the ambience. It makes you feel relaxed. I think it is because it is really a Spanish restaurant that they designed their restaurants in a way that encourages long meals and snacks - very, very opposite of the fast food feel. I think the owners really wanted to incorporate that Spanish culture of enjoying food while talking or reading the papers, which is a habit also inherited by the Filipinos.

Dulcinea is a great stop for breakfast and lunch meetings or even just to take a break by yourself.

Churros con Chocolate - melts in your mouth! Probably their most famous selection.

You should try their sandwiches, especially the one with chorizo filling. Aside from the sweets, Dulcinea has got great deli items - great jamon (Spanish ham) and chorizo (Spanish sausage) varieties.

You can also take home a box of pastries of your choice as a gift for your loved ones or for yourself.

Dulcinea was established in the Philippines in 1963. The first shop was set in Ermita, Manila. In the late 1980's, Dulcinea moved to Makati, taking a spot beside the legendary Rizal Theater. Then it moved to Greenbelt Mall in July 1989, making Dulcinea's popularity soar. Suddenly it became the yuppie hangout; a meeting place for Churros con Chocolate and a site for foodfests for those with leisure at their fingertips. The menu expanded to include more Spanish specialties for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The deli counter saw additions to its well-patronized offerings of Chorizo Bilbao, Chorizo Pamplona, Jamon Serrano, and Sobrasada.

By November 1990, La Dulcinea Restaurant, Inc. was formed, which brought in a new drive and dynamism that allowed Dulcinea to grow and serve a wider customer base. Presently, Dulcinea has 10 branches in Metro Manila. Outlets are located in Greenbelt 1, Robinsons Galleria, SM Megamall, Ayala Alabang, Tomas Morato, Glorietta 4, Robinsons Place Manila, SM City Manila, The Powerplant Mall and Greenhills Theater Mall.

Dulcinea continues to create its known Spanish sweets and pastries and also offers hot meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a delicatessen stocked with Spanish Sausages.

With approximately 160-170 product lines in just the cake and pastry section, Dulcinea has the leverage to service a wider customer range with varying preferences and tastes. The extensive product line makes it difficult for customers to tire of Dulcinea products with so many to choose from.

Dulcinea does not and will not sacrifice quality for anything. Management sees to it that the tradition of quality is further carried on and maintained in the operations of the business. As a result, Dulcinea has managed to attract new operations of the business. As a result, Dulcinea has managed to attract new clients and still maintains its regular clients principally because of this policy.

For those who know Spanish pas-telerias, walking into Dulcinea will bring back sweet memories, or create a few. A wonderful place for merienda and full meals. Traditional chocolate con churros (light, finger-shaped frit-ters, or churros, dipped into a rich, hot chocolate drink) are available anytime. A bright display case features a colorful array of Spanish delicacies, such as the hojaldre assortment: squares of thin, delicate pastry layers, or hojaldre, with various cream or nut fillings and decorative toppings. Specialty hojaldre orders include Tarta de Madrid and Saint Honore, among others, both lavished with English cream. Also available are croissants, savory-filled pastries or pasteles, cream puffs, oven-fresh breads, cakes, pies.
