Went here earlier to meet with one of their managers. Im amazed at how well trained their staff is! Imagine, when i got in, they immediately sat me down, asked me who i was waiting for then served me complementary corn on the cob and iced tea! Absolutely proffessional! Kudos not only to their food but definitely to their staff!!!

I'm a seafood lover and so as my wife. we always scout a good seafood restaurant once every month. Since we found this great place, we always do our bi-monthly seafood trip. Our favorite is the crab marites which is one of their specialty. The price is fairly good and the ambiance is just right - not to shabby and not to intimidating. There is also a "eat all you can" buffet for P600.00 per head. they also have complete accessories for crab cracking.

I’ve always been a frequent visitor at Red Crab, but since they are all the way at Greenbelt. ClawDaddy, who is conveniently situated in Shangri-la Plaza Mall, has already clawed its way to my heart. My last visit at ClasDaddy Crab and American Grill was on April 11 with Bubba, my mom and sisters. My mom invited us out for dinner at a restaurant of my choice since she was treating me for the Nokia Wireless Adventure event. Isn’t she just the sweetest? (My answer to that is –not all the time haha. But I extremely love her to death! I’d like to believe that I’m her anchor.)

Since it was a celebration, then it had to be a feast… more so that my sister Joyce is eating with us (she is pudgy pudgy and has one of the biggest appetites I know). I decided to get two big platters to share among the five of us.

On the Table:

Amuse Bouche: Grilled Corns

Caesar Sald PHP250++

ClawDaddy King Sampler PHP895++

Crab and Lobster Boil PHP1183++

Dirty Rice PHP185++

ClawDaddy Crab is located in Shangrila Plaza Mall. For reservations, please contact 6365679.

Clawdaddy lives up to its name, the crabs are HUGE. The claws alone are like the size of the body of a small crab. I couldn't help but think that this IS truly the daddy of all crabs and claws (or is it mommy because female crabs are supposed to be bigger?). In fact every table had its own big, round stone and marble slab which you use to crack the crabs with. Ordinary crackers won't work because the crabs won't fit!

I liked Crab Maritess, which was a delicious yet seemingly simple dish consisting of just crab, olive oil, and garlic. I also ordered their Maryland Seafood and Apple Chowder which was served in a bread bowl. I didn't like the chowder much because the "sea" taste was so strong it was overpowering.

Aside from crabs, Clawdaddy also serves sandwiches and meat dishes. Well worth a visit if just to take a gander at the colossal crabs.

The first time we ate at ClawDaddy was memorable because the service was impressive. The waiters were very accomodating without being annoyingly attentive (while we ate crabs). The crabs we ordered were perfectly cooked (Crab Maritess) and the Baby Back Ribs (half) were just as succulent. On our second visit, we went for the buffet and it was definitely worth my P600+. Imagine having a fill of all the crabs you can eat PLUS more! Being a crab-lover, this was a real treat. Of course it really helps that they've got all these bibs and claw breakers on hand to make dining a truly sumptuous experience.

The meat on the ribs is just soft enough for you to slice without a knife and it is juicy enough that it will make your mouth water while looking at it. The mashed potato also deserves some credit because it’s not your typical potato with gravy. The actually mixed it with some herbs making it taste more than the average side dish.

This is a new resto which is quite gaining popularity. It's my 2nd time to eat in this place yet, it's always full when I visit. And it never fails to delight my tastebuds. It's got meat and seafoods, it's a blend 'tween American & Asian specialty foods. The portions are big and yet the price is reasonably low.

The "free" starter-grilled sweet corn on the cob has a spicy twang and is "Great for the Wait" (waiting time)

Special mention foods to try are the Gambas, Baby-back ribs, Ceasar Salad, Fish & Chips (although the best is still at Fish & Co. same bldg, a couple floors below) and my all time fave- Crab in Garlic,Gingerbutter sauce. (in the 800 grams, 900 grams & 1.2 kilogram weight classes)
They have other crab recipes like Singaporean, Szechuan, Fried and the list goes on. Lobster is great too. Wish they had fresh oysters too. All they have is baked ones. Over-all the meals are palatable delights, got great kid servings too. Good for Family get 2gethers, go visit this eatery now.

The service is fast, architecture + sculptures are unique,the lighting is good, and the managers are very friendly & accomodating. The metal sculptures of the Pig, sardines, and swordfish eating fish-eating smaller fish is really nice to trip on. The handwash area should have more than one sink though and should be tidied up abit.

Overall? 5 stars!

It was a fun experience for everybody since we get to use our hands to eat all the seafood. We were provided with Orange Bibs with the fading imprint of "Who's Your Clawdaddy?" Semi-hot wash towels and tons of paper towels were given to us to prevent any stains.

Clawdaddy Crab House and American Grill. We had pasta, calamari and chili crab. I have to say that it was the most enormous crab I have ever seen! My two girlfriends finished the crab, but we had to bring home the calamari and pasta in a doggie bag.

People go to ClawDaddy for their fill of seafood but there is more to this restaurant than just shellfish. The city's carnivores will be glad to know that the place serves great steaks and their barbecue choices are a big treat. The ribs are tender and flavorful and the servings are huge-big enough to be shared by three or four people.

The Crab and Seafood Boil was a mass of delightful things. It was a great dish to share with the family. The only downside was since we are seafood loving individuals (well, four out of us five), the entire set felt like it wasn't enough.

As I was eating my lunch crate, I wished I had family or friends to share the meal (and the calories) with. The serving was huge and could in fact be shared by two. I also marveled at what approximately $6 can get you in the Philippines. In other countries, that's just the price of a burger in a fast food joint.
