Wow! Wow! Wow!!! they serve the best steaks in manila (if not in the Philippines). They have very nice waiters and waitresses, plus the place seems clean. I would definitely go back here. A bit expensive though. But you get your money's worth. So, swak lng.

I have been going to Alfredo's all my life. I had fond memories of the place and it WAS my favorite as far as steaks are concerned.

Having known Alfredo's, I was excited to promote it to people. We even bought coupons from them in support of their promos. However, much to my dismay, we encountered a lot of problems with them regarding their service, food and treatment of customers.

The first problem was the fact that service was very very very slow. I know it's fine dining but it took an hour and a half before we got our main courses. Prior to that, we were just munching on salad, soup and bread which only came after we have told three waiters at five separate instances. And to think that we already arrived early! We came in at 630pm, and got out at 9pm. We had to cancel plans and call it a night simply because we ran out of time to do other things.

Second problem is that the food quality is getting bad. The portion I was served for my fillet mignon was disappointing (compared to the last time I had it) and the potato, which I remember to be a bowl-full was served like garnish on my plate. The ribs served to my girlfriend was scorched, dry and overcooked. It was not served hot and it was her coleslaw that was warm.

Third problem is the ambiance. There were simply too many people that the place was starting to look like a flea market. You might think this is the cause of the first two problems but there is just no excuse for being undermanned, especially since most of the customers made reservations like we did (There were signs on the tables). If they cannot handle the people, they should have refused them. The place was just too loud and chaotic for fine dining. Seriously, it was like eating at a food court.

Lastly, and this is the cause which prompted me to write this review, we were charged a service charge when our coupon explicitly indicated there was none. Since the waiter could not explain the computation of the service charge, I was actually asked to go inside their kitchen so that the cashier can explain everything to me. I was actually open to an explanation. After all, I consider it a small amount. But dear me, the cashier was so arrogant and dismissive! He would not hear me out and was simply insisting on his interpretation of the fine print! Having suffered enough for the night, I just decided to cut my losses and charge it to experience. Lucky him. Because normally, I would go ballistic over such a treatment.

It is just so sad that something I really enjoyed as a child has deteriorated into a third-class dump. I have been to Alfredo's many times and I have brought many friends to its doors. Not once have I insisted on any preferential treatment. But lately, I am getting embarrassed and tonight is probably the last time I will think highly of Alfredo's.

The Alfredo's I knew was not like this. I may never eat here again, and might even dissuade my friends from trying it out and my family from coming back.

ENSOGO VOUCHER HOLDERS BEWARE !!!! Booked a table using Ensogo vouchers.Originally wanted to dine in on the 6th or 7th of August which is a weekend, called them up and been told that they're fully booked so I booked it for Aug. 10 which is a weekday for 8 p.m.instead.However on that particular weekend, I happened to pass by the restaurant and the place seems to be empty.Looks like they don't want voucher holders on weekends...hmmm.
August 10 came but unfortunately we were stranded in Palawan due to CebuPac's incompetence (another company to avoid) since they'd cancelled our flight. I asked my brother to ring Alfredo's to cancel my reservation at around 5 p.m. and was told that my voucher was forfeited since it's their policy that if you cancelled on the day itself then your voucher's good for nothing already.
As soon as I arrived in Manila, I contacted them about my situation and informed them that I have a letter from CebuPac proving that my flight was really cancelled on August 10 and there was no way I can go back to Manila on the day.The woman I was speaking with who introduced herself as the manager, won't even listen to me.All she kept on saying was it's their policy and it's not their problem that I can't make it on that day blah blah blah.
I tried to explain to her that it's not my fault either that I wasn't able to make it but instead of at least offering an alternative, she kept on insisting that my voucher was already forfeited since that is their policy. I told her, that I understand that it is the policy but as a business they should have a leeway or make adjustments for customers who were in the same situation that I was.But the conversation went nowhere since she kept on insisting about their stupid policy.
To top it all up,she put the phone down on me when I asked her for Ensogo's number. She casually just told me to go look for it on the internet.Really classy....

vegasdusty1  i had been a manager in the financial institution for 20 plus years...in the US ...we are prohibited from using the statement "its the policy" this statement means shut up theres nothing you can do bout it...and it comes from a position that there is no leeway or compromise whatsoever...it really is poor customer service to used those words...instead of using let me see what i can do?..i ve managed and owned my restaurant too in the states and customers just kept on coming back....if i ran this restaurant i will get more complements than complaints and build more goodwill...being in the states the public is the hardest to please here...but if you give them great service they pay you back by referrals and continuous patronage of the estbalishment...people have choices

foodster  And look at their reply to the previous posts, what arrogance to reply in that manner! Instead of trying to appease customers, this restaurant has the audacity to accuse and berate them.

This restaurant takes advantage of its customers. It interprets rules to the detriment of its clients, and definitely has no desire nor intention to make accommodations.

Yes, promos have rules, and Alfredo's does not follow theirs.

Alfredos  Dear santosgerry72,

We know exactly who you are (of course Gerry Santos is not your real name...you just created this account, as well as the one on FB, to give us bad reviews on the evening of your reservation);

You reserved a table for 8pm, then, despite our policy that you have to inform us of any changes at least a day ahead (when using a deal voucher/coupon), on the day of your reservation itself you moved it to 9pm, then to 10pm. During your last call, we reminded you that we were open only until 11pm. You arrived at 1040pm and wanted to take-out your order.

You got upset because by that time we'd sent our kitchen staff home (our dining staff are the only ones who stay till 11pm to wait for customers to finish and to close shop). Sir, your last reservation was at 10pm but you arrived at 1040pm. If you had arrived AT 10pm, we would still have been able to serve you. But not at 1040pm.

You were upset because you could not take-out. It is clearly stipulated on your discount vouchers that the promo is for dine-in only; You were upset that you could not reschedule to a future date. It is clearly stipulated on your discount voucher that any cancelations must be made a day ahead.

All promos have rules.

If you think you will enjoy Alfredo's thru Ensogo, better think again!!
We bought several vouchers because they posted nice old reviews, and from my childhood recollections, I'm expecting to rekindle pleasant memories.
We reserved two table since the rules says only 2 vouchers allowed per table.
And we requested upon reservation that adjacent tables are preferred.
But when we arrive, you will immediately feel you're second class customer because you're a voucher holder. The table they gave was at least 3 tables apart and when we requested the table beside each other, we were told that it cannot be done Kasi magagalit daw ang taga Ensogo they check daw even the table no. where customers eat and it cannot be changed even when the tables beside the one they gave us was vacant! So after fuming mad we were transferred to the far corner where our tables are finally beside each other BUT we were not allowed to move the tables closer to each other! Imagine my kids have to be divided between the two tables among the two parents!!! We told them buti pa sa Shangrila they will even find ways for your tables to be joint together so you can enjoy your discount cards! But of course it's like talking to the marines! So we ordered just to use up the vouchers' value and have to make sure that people will be aware of our experience. Thanks.

Alfredos  Dear samenrig,

Unlike other deals, our first Ensogo deal (which you availed) had no restriction on what day or time you can dine nor what you can order. The only restriction is that you may only use two vouchers per table. A lot of customers (like you) who want to get around this one and only restriction reserve several tables. In your case, you reserved several tables with only two people in each table.

We try our best to place the tables as close to each other as possible. However, if you look at our entire dining area, there are really no tables good for only two persons adjacent to each other. We reserve bigger tables for bigger groups (whether walk-in or voucher holder, doesn't matter). Please understand that we cannot place only two persons in a table for four.

If you would like to be seated all together, please keep to the 2 voucher per table policy.

All promos have rules.

still the best steakhouse for me... the service crew were very courteous and attentive... the food ofcourse is still the best... they really know how to prepare, cook and serve steaks, not like other socalled steakhouses who are clueless in preparing, cooking and serving steaks... the prices are still very reasonable and ofcourse one would never forget their own home made pandesal served along side other side dishes...

our mood was not dampened by the lack of parking space, thanks to the courteous and helpful guard. Steak is great, delectable and a feast to our stomachs. Choice meats remained the best for a long time. A good place to spend our corporate budget. They will even give you their leftover bones (upon request) for your ever loyal dog at home...lucky dog!

One among the restaurants that serve best steaks is Alfredo's Steakhouse. You wont be embarrass bringing important people including business clients to dine in with this resto. Their steaks are really mouthwatering. Though located along the busy street of Tomas Morato, still its ambiance is quiet and relaxing. The foods and the place is worth the price.

Alfredo's steakhouse was one of the original steakhouses that delivered good quality steaks. They have continued to serve the same delicious portions of choice cut meats as they did many years ago.
